Kira Shteyman, FNP-C, MSN
Nurse Practitioner, Student Health Center
Kira received her BSN from Mount St. Mary's College. While working at St. John's Hospital as a RN she obtained her MSN and NP with an emphasis in Family Practice. Kira's experience covers a wide range of health care settings. Kira is also working at an Ob/Gyn private practice in Tarzana and a pain management practice in West Hills. Kira finds it very rewarding to educate and assist students through their challenges.
Debbie Sargent, FNP-C, MSN
Nurse Practitioner, Student Health Center
Debbie is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 40 years experience. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Virginia and her Masters from University of Massachusetts. Debbie is also certified in Women's Health and Family Planning. She is originally from Maine, but has been a resident of California since 1984. She is married with two daughters.
Dr. Roxana Rabadi, Psy.D.
Psychologist, Student Health Center
Dr. Roxana Rabadi is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in diagnosing and working with children and adults with autism and related developmental disorders. Her specialties include anger management, anxiety, autism, depression, eating disorders, family conflict, loss and grief, relationship issues, social and communication difficulties, and stress management. Dr. Rabadi also has program development experience in areas such as suicide prevention and support for clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Being a part of the healing profession has been one of her most gratifying and rewarding accomplishments and she is a strong believer that there is nothing more enriching than knowing you have made a difference in someone else鈥檚 life.
Dr. Amy Snyder, PhD
Psychologist, Student Health Center
Dr. Snyder is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology (Ph.D.) from the University of London in 2007. Before that, she earned three Master of Arts degrees: in clinical psychology, general psychology and educational/developmental psychology. Dr. Snyder has over 10 years teaching experience, working as a professor of psychology for the Los Angeles Community College District. She has also taught for Moorpark college, Taft College, Santa Monica College, CSUCI, and Foothill College. She has written an article entitled, 鈥淪tress, relaxation states, and creativity鈥, which is published in the journal, Perceptual and Motor Skills.
Loralyn Frederick, MA, AA
Assistant, Student Health Center
Loralyn has been a part of the Pierce College Student Health Center team since 2006 and is proud to work with a diversely talented staff that offers meticulous patient care, creative energy, leadership, and a personalized touch. She has a variety of duties and is cross-trained in both administrative and clinical aspects of her career. In her 15-year tenure at the Student Health Center, she is the first to greet patients, providing a human touch and making patients feel at ease in what can be a stressful experience. Her interest in healthcare stems from her satisfaction with serving others fully in all aspects of health, such as promoting health equity and improving students' health outcomes. Treating people with kindness and respect goes a long way. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crafting, movies, and spending time with family, friends, and fur babies.
Bonnie Zahavi, MA
Assistant, Student Health Center
As a Health Assistant at Pierce College Student Health Center, Bonnie has a dedicated passion for helping students. After having received her Medical Assistant Certificate from Bryman College, Bonnie is eager to assist students who are seeking medical healthcare.
Mitchell Nishimoto, MD
Physician, Student Health Center
Dr. Nishimoto received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from UCLA and earned his M.D. at the University of California, Davis. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and became Board Certified in 1994. He took over his current practice in the Valley in 2003 and has been the Clinic Physician here at Pierce since then.
