Articulation Office Mission and Goals
The Articulation Office establishes and maintains articulation agreements with accredited colleges and universities to ensure student access to a seamless transfer experience. The Articulation Office also supports faculty in curricular and program development to meet the diverse needs of our region and four-year partner colleges and universities.
The Articulation Officer is the college designee that determines how courses apply to IGETC and CSU GE Certifications and works in consultation with discipline faculty on how courses apply to local degrees and certificates. Lastly, the Articulation Office provides students, counselors, teaching faculty, and the Transfer Center with the most up-to-date articulation-related information and resources.
Articulation is the process of developing a formal, written agreement that identifies courses, or sequences of courses, from a "sending" campus that are comparable to, or acceptable in lieu of specific course requirements at a "receiving" campus. The main purpose of articulation is to facilitate the successful transfer of students from a community college to a four-year institution.
An articulation agreement is, most commonly, an agreement between LA Pierce College and a college or university which specifies which LA Pierce College courses may be transferred to meet general education, major or elective requirements. LA Pierce College has a number of articulation agreements with California State University (CSU), University of California (UC) and private institutions in California as well as out-of-state. These agreements may be found the Transfer Agreements and Articulation website. These agreements will facilitate the successful transfer of LA Pierce College students to baccalaureate level colleges and universities. Course articulation is decided by the college receiving the course.
All CSU and UC transfer articulation is found on which is the official articulation database for California public colleges.

Note: Community college articulation is generally only possible with lower-division courses
