L.A. Pierce College Athletics Update
Football Comeback Just Falls Short
West LA was able to hold off a late LA Pierce surge while scoring a pair of late touchdowns in the fourth quarter to secure the win. With the score tied at 20-20 with 3:29 to play in the fourth, West LA was able to score a 23-yard touchdown run and a 31-yard touchdown to take the win. For the Brahmas, scored two touchdowns, while scored his first of the season. They will visit the College of the Desert on Sep 28. Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball Eager To Be Back Home
Women’s Volleyball will play their next home game on Sep 25. Vs Antelope Valley at 6:00 p.m. After two road games, they are eager to be back home. The Brahmas visited Cal Lutheran and Citrus College losing both in three sets. Despite losing in three sets the Brahmas were within striking distance in each set narrowly losing.
Men’s Soccer Approaching Conference Play
This following month in October, the Los Angeles Pierce College Men’s Soccer team will begin conference play. Despite falling 3-0 in their latest game to Pasadena City, the team is still confident as it is a young season. They will have a whole week and a half to prepare for their next opponent. The Brahmas visit Chaffey college on Sep 27. Kick-off is at 4:00 p.m.
Student-Athlete of the Week
This week’s Student-Athlete of the Week is Randy Peters, who showcased his incredible talent on the field with two impressive touchdowns during Saturday’s game. Peters had 58 rushing yards and a touchdown, and 42 receiving yards along with a receiving touchdown. The latter was a 35-yard reception with no time left in the first half. His versatility in several positions on the field was on display. He brought his season total touchdowns to four.
