How to join the ASO Senate

Thank you for your interest in student leadership & ASO! The ASO Senator position is open for the 2023-2024 academic year. The process consists of this application and an interview with the ASO Executive Board members. We look forward to learning more about you, your leadership goals, and ideas to make LA Pierce College the best learning community it can be!

ASO Senator requirements

  • Enroll in a minimum of 5 units.
  • Receive department chair approval.
  • Pay the ASO student fee ($7.00 Fall/Spring), $3 Winter/Summer).
  • Attend required meetings on Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm.

ASO Senate meetings are held on Tuesdays at 1pm during the Fall and Spring semesters. 

How to form a new ASO Club

Thank you for your interest in student leadership and engagement! The Spring 2024 chartering application is now available. If you have questions, please contact ASO Club Council President at @email.

  • Have at least 6 members with paid ASO fees.
  • Find a faculty/staff advisor who will attend club meetings and serve as an advisor to the club/organization.
  • To charter your club for Fall, please complete the . If you have chartered for the past Fall and would like to recharter for the Spring, submit the .
  • All ASO Club Advisors must submit a new .

To be an ASO Executive Team Member, a student must:

  1. Be an ASO paid member.
  2. Be enrolled in at least 5 units at СÀ¶ÊÓƵ.
  3. Have 80 cumulative units or less (can be appealed with the over 80-unit exemption form); and
  4. This application will open again in February 2024.

** Please note that these requirements are also for ASO Club Leadership and ASO Senator positions.
